“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE.”

Isaiah 9:6 ESV

Our hearts and minds have been so focused on what’s happen- ing in Ukraine, because we realize that many of the men now fighting for their country’s freedom were orphans that we got to know in the mid-nineties. The Lord God used Little Lambs Ministry (LLM) to bring the Gospel to hundreds of orphans and staff when the USSR was dismantled. LLM sponsored summer camps for the kids. Many came to believe on and re- ceive the Lord Jesus as their Savior. One thirteen-year-old boy we met was Kolya. His parents died when he was young and he and his sister were found by the village people, huddled over their mother’s grave, who called the police, after which they were placed in Orphanage #21. One rainy summer day in 1995, we were playing with Play Doh and Kolya was asked why he was so happy. His face radiated with joy, despite his circum- stances. He put his Play Doh figure down, sat up straight and replied in broken English, “God my Father, Jesus in heart, makes me happy”.

Fast forward to March 2022 and there was a brief report from inside a Kyiv hospital, where a little boy, with his head band- aged, was sitting next to his father, smiling – in the midst of a war, he was visibly happy because his Papa was there! Then, another report from within another hospital, showed a boy in a bed, crying out repeatedly for his Papa, who was in another part of the hospital, recovering from wounds.

For those who have come into God’s family, through a rela- tionship with the Lord Jesus, we have the wonderful privilege of calling God our Heavenly Father! Our Father wants us to cry out to Him, trust Him with our lives, and find delight in serving Him. He is an Everlasting Father, Who is ever-present with us, and yet how many times we act as if we are alone, left to face our trials and challenges by ourselves. It cost the Lord Jesus His life to rescue us from our sin and make us able to access the Father forever!
It is our privilege at EWA to serve our Heavenly Father by serving our students and their families. Our desire is for each of our students to realize what an opportunity they have by being in a Christian school, to learn more about the One Who wants them to know Him as their Everlasting Father! The ongoing prayer is that they would serve Him wherever He wants to use them!

We want to acknowledge Linda Squire, who has been one of our faithful volunteers and prayer partners, for years. She recently accepted the responsibility of helping with the writing of “Thank You Notes” that go out to our donors. This is a huge help, as we try to be diligent to acknowledge every gift that comes to support this ministry, as each one is part of how the Lord keeps us operational! Thank you, Linda.

We would like to thank Green Hills Farms for donating a gift card to EWA! We plan to use this to help honor and celebrate our volunteers this spring!

Thank you!, Green Hill Farms

IN MEMORY OF…

A donation was made by Mrs. Beatrice Maser, “In Memory of Mr. Ed Powers”. Ed was a good neighbor who liked to share his love of books with Beatrice, who has been a life-long reader for decades! We thank the Lord for EWA being thought of like this, to remember a friend!

IN ADDITION TO SUPPORTING OUR SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS ACADEMICALLY, WE ALSO FOCUS ON HELPING OUR FAMILIES LIVE AS CHILDREN WITH A HEAVENLY FATHER. WE BRING TO THEIR ATTENTION VARIOUS WAYS THAT THE ENEMY WORKS TO GET THEM TO DISOBEY GOD, AND THEN PROVIDE A BIBLICAL FRAMEWORK FOR HOW TO LIVE OBEDIENTLY TO HIM. RECENTLY WE PROVIDED A SERIES OF FOUR WORKSHEETS ENTITLED, “DANGERS AHEAD”, AND HIGHLIGHTED SOME OF THE AREAS IN TODAY’S CULTURE TO BE AWARE OF, AND HOW TO TEACH THEIR CHILDREN TO BE DISCERNING ABOUT VARIOUS ASPECTS OF LIFE: INTERNET USAGE, MOVIES, BOOKS, GAMES, MUSIC, CELL- PHONE USAGE, GENDER ISSUES ETC. WE HAD SOME WONDERFUL RESPONSES FROM OUR PARENTS. THE FOLLOWING FAMILIES, IN RESPONSE TO AN INCENTIVE WE CREATED TO MAKE THESE ACTIVITIES LESS ACADEMIC, AND MORE LIFE-LESSONS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, WERE REWARDED WITH A FUN GIFT CARD: MATTHEW/MEELAKH; RORY; AARON; LAHTAWS

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART?

Our students are rewarded for work or behaviors that set them apart from their peers. Please take a moment to read what teachers had to say about our students and why they nominated them for an award!
